On 28th March 2023, the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University hosted the launch event for the flagship project 'Campus Living Lab: Useful Research HUB.' The kick-off event was attended by various stakeholders, including the University community, representatives from the public sector, businesses, and NGOs.
The project launch was a distinctive and noteworthy occasion. It commenced with a presentation by dr hab. Beata Jałocha, the project manager, who outlined the goals and objectives of the Campus Living Lab (CLL). Following that, dr hab. Ewa Bogacz-Wojtanowska, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University, discussed the university's third mission, known as the social mission. Dr hab. Krzysztof Gwosdz, a Professor at the Jagiellonian University, then presented the dynamics of the living lab concept in Poland.
The event also included a hands-on segment that proved to be highly inspiring. The Campus Design Sprint allowed participants to generate initial ideas for changes in the Jagiellonian University Campus area. Initially, individuals worked independently, and then they engaged in joint discussions and completed a wow/now/how/pow matrix. The teams exhibited exceptional commitment and creativity throughout the workshop, facilitated by Łukasz Gacek, Marina Bąkiewicz, dr Mateusz Lewandowski, and dr Kamilla Noworól, creating a friendly atmosphere.
Following the workshop, there was a review session of the filled-in templates, and participants voted on the most impressive ideas, capturing the essence of the entire event. This kick-off event marked the first collaborative step towards establishing a campus living laboratory.
Undoubtedly, the kick-off event for the project was highly successful, leaving a positive impression on all involved parties.
